ABOUT

Logo UVOThe Venezuelan Ornithologist Union/Unión Venezolana de Ornitólogos (UVO) is a science NGO (non-profit) that unites professionals, students and bird enthusiasts whose objective is to promote the study of birds in Venezuela. To this end, it proposes to:

  1. Link people and institutions interested in ornithology and in the study and observation of birds.
  2. Promote, encourage and contribute to the organization of studies that lead to the scientific knowledge of Venezuelan birds, particularly rare and endangered endemic species.
  3. Act as an advisory and opinion organism before persons and institutions in relation to the research, management and conservation of birds in Venezuela.
  4. Function as a center for storage, exchange and dissemination of ornithological information.
  5. Establish relations with governmental organizations and related associations, both national and international.
  6. Organize periodic scientific meetings in which researchers and institutions exchange experiences and results.
  7. Create periodic or occasional publications for scientific dissemination and communication.
