Unión Venezolana de Ornitólogos
ABOUT
The Venezuelan Ornithologist Union/Unión Venezolana de Ornitólogos (UVO) is a science NGO (non-profit) that unites professionals, students and bird enthusiasts whose objective is to promote the study of birds in Venezuela. To this end, it proposes to:
- Link people and institutions interested in ornithology and in the study and observation of birds.
- Promote, encourage and contribute to the organization of studies that lead to the scientific knowledge of Venezuelan birds, particularly rare and endangered endemic species.
- Act as an advisory and opinion organism before persons and institutions in relation to the research, management and conservation of birds in Venezuela.
- Function as a center for storage, exchange and dissemination of ornithological information.
- Establish relations with governmental organizations and related associations, both national and international.
- Organize periodic scientific meetings in which researchers and institutions exchange experiences and results.
- Create periodic or occasional publications for scientific dissemination and communication.
