Logging into Birds of the World

Birds of the World is a subscription service.  You will first need to create a Cornell Lab account in order to complete the purchase. Once you’ve established an account, your subscription account will be tied to your Cornell Lab account.

To log in:

Click the blue Sign In button on the upper right part of the home page to view content.

When you are logged in, you will see a tiny silhouette with a dropdown menu. Here, you can change your email and view your subscription details.

After you log in, your Cornell Lab account screen looks like this:

This is where you can update your email address, your password, and address.

You can then manage your subscription account on the Your Subscription page:

Here is where you can check on the status of your subscription, renew your subscription, cancel your subscription, change your payment details,  and update your billing address.

I forgot my username and password.

Click Sign In and click either Forgot Username or Forgot Password to retrieve your credentials.

I am logged in. Why can’t I see the full species accounts?

  • If you are “logged in” but you still can’t see full species accounts, this is because you are logged in under a different username. Some people have created multiple usernames but your subscription can only be tied to one. Try logging out and log back in with a different username.

I am supposed to have special access via AOS, Golden-winged society, or another group, but I can’t get in.

Please see the special member access page.
