The eBird Status & Trends project uses state-of-the-art machine learning to generate data products that help decision makers, scientists, and birders better understand migration, abundance patterns, range boundaries, and trends in bird populations. This webinar goes behind the scenes to help users understand how eBird Status & Trends products are made and how they are being applied in research and conservation.
The webinar will be of special interest to ornithologists, data scientists, conservationists, agencies, and other practitioners. Feedback and ideas to maximize the utility of these science products to your own work will be welcome. Submit questions or feedback in advance on the registration form.

Tom Auer leads the production efforts for eBird Status & Trends and the development of geovisualizations of these products for public engagement, science, and conservation. He enjoys being able to go from birder to data scientist to conservationist all in one job and thinks that eBird has the power to become a key tool for helping preserve the world’s birds.
