Sounds and Vocal Behavior

Vocalizations

The song is described as "cuh kwao or cuh kwao kwao, uttered rather slowly and carrying for considerable distances" (1), or as "Toca-loro; coc, ca-rao, or cock-craow" (14). Also has a low rattle (1) and "cooing and puppy-like whimpering sounds" (14, 1).

Nonvocal Sounds

A loud rattle of wings sometimes is heard in flight (1).
