Legend Overview
Introduction
Ethiopian Boubou is a pied bush-shrike with a pinkish belly that once was considered a subspecies of the Tropical Boubou (Laniarius major), but differs primarily in the smaller size of the white stripe on the wings. Occurring mostly within Ethiopia, the range also extends into eastern Sudan, northwestern Somalia, and extreme northern Kenya. Ethiopian Boubou is a poorly known species that inhabits wooded savannah, however it is less restricted to dense vegetation than Tropical Boubou. The conservation status has not been assessed by BirdLife International, but it appears to be common to abundant in the Ethiopian highlands.
