Conservation and Management

The White-throated Antpitta has a small geographic range (53, 4), but populations are believed to be stable (54). Consequently the IUCN Red List conservation status of the White-throated Antpitta is assessed as Least Concern (54). It is generally considered uncommon (52, 9) in most of its limited range, but can be locally fairly common (see Population Status).

Effects of Human Activity

None specifically documented. Like most neotropical species, it is likely that the effects of habitat destruction, at least locally, are of major concern. It does, however, inhabit a fairly broad spectrum of habitat types and has been regularly found in areas of moderate or high disturbance (33, 44). Many known sites are currently afforded some degree of protection (see Management: Conservation Areas).
